There have been many academic studies looking at goal getting and success rate. Its perfectly clear that if you don’t have a goal you wont achieve it, but the evidence demonstrates that writing your goals down makes you 42% more likely to achieve them.
Taking it a step further a study done on Harvard MBA graduates found that after ten years:
- The 13% of the class who had goals were earning, on average, twice as much as the 84 percent who had no goals at all.
- Even more staggering – the three percent who had clear, written goals were earning, on average, ten times as much as the other 97 percent put together.

Using visual imagery to remind you or anchor specific thoughts is shown to improve memory of facts and behaviours.
At I will strive we combine the written goals / pledges with a wrist band as a visual reminder to check your behaviours everyday, review your goals and maintain the behavioural changes necessary to achieve your goals.
